Bright Bone Moon

Bright bone moon hanging low tonight
Shadows crack in the fire light
She turns inside my Sight

White smoke pluming in the air
Brush the ground with coyote hair
We burn as she sets the snare
We yearn in this House of Prayer

Voices murmur, bodies quake
Coiling dance of a rattle snake
She calls, the Spirits wake

Senses seized can't turn away
Fire rising in a queer ballet
We fall as she begins to sway
We crawl in our husk of clay

And the world reels on her wayward axis
     Starlight a luminous typhoon
     Something opens to receive us
A womb, a tomb, a bright bone moon

Rhythm heaving, blood-pulse spell
Shaking soul, a piercing yell
She whirls where the Powers dwell

Flaming phantoms fill the air
Lucent visions everywhere
We swirl in our hallowed lair
We unfurl in this House of Prayer

And the world reels on her wayward axis
     Starlight a luminous typhoon
     Something opens to receive us
A womb, a tomb, a bright bone moon
